Applications are now open for Pink Belt Scholarships: All expenses associated with one year of training in the traditional martial arts including uniform and equipment covered for a woman who could benefit from this gift of empowerment.
In addition we have two scholarships being offered by martial arts clubs in the US. Details below.
AND for the first time: One scholarship for a young woman aged 13 to 17 that can be used at any Taekwondo club in Australia.
Who can apply:
Applications are invited from women in need – particularly those healing from the trauma of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault. In addition, young women aged 13 to 17 in need – particularly those with a neurological disease or disability. Scholarships funds will be paid direct by Australian Taekwondo to the club or school where the scholarship beneficiary intends to train in two $1,000 instalments. One on December 31, 2020 and one on June 30, 2021.
Scholarships can be undertaken at your local martial arts club. First check whether a club near you is listed in the supporting clubs below. If you find one, you are encouraged to contact them in the first instance (usually via their club Facebook page). If there is not a club listed near you, then send an enquiry to kristy@pinkbelt.com.au

How are applications assessed?:
Applications will be assessed by a panel to include Pink Belt Scholarship Founder Kristy Hitchens, Project Ambassadors Carmen Marton and Kate McAdam plus staff from Australian Taekwondo. Winners will be advised by phone mid December.
Scholarships on offer:
2 x fully paid scholarships for women over 18 worth $2,000 each for training at any martial arts club or school in Australia
1 x fully paid scholarship for young women aged 13 to 17 worth $2,000 for training at any Taekwondo club or school in Australia
